The official travel and tourism agency for Jacksonville, Fla. has announced plans to reel in tourism through their craft beer scene. Katie Mitura, director of marketing and product development revealed plans to promote their new tourism venture through a statewide digital advertising campaign which the details of have not been yet made known.
“That’s a hot buzz word in tourism — craft breweries and dining and going to different communities and experiencing that,” Mitura said. “We have an amazing opportunity to promote to outsiders to come and visit our breweries.”
The campaign is expected to cost between $5,000 and $10,000 which is set against potential tens of thousands that the area stands to make with the booming popularity of the craft beer market.
Several breweries in the surrounding have been tapped to support this new campaign to make Jacksonville a go-to spot for those looking to include brewery tours, taste tests, or simply a day in the company of craft beers. Here is a list of the breweries involved: Intuition Ale Works, Bold City Brewery, Aardwolf Brewing Co., Pinglehead Brewing Co., Engine 15, Green Room Brewing and Veterans United Craft Brewery.
The campaign plans to stretch just north in to Georgia as well, all in an effort to capitalize on the success of craft breweries as their presence continues to grow.
