Halloween is right around the corner and there is still plenty of time to celebrate. There are multiple ways to celebrate whether you’re a party animal or a recluse who just wants to watch spooky movies. Either way a cocktail can be perfect for the occasion!

If you’re a horror movie lover like me then you know about the iconic villains. From Scream to Friday the 13th there are plenty of characters to love. These characters are more than worthy of having their own cocktails inspired by them!

Michael Myers- Jack-o-lantern

"The Night he came home."

Starting this list with the spirit of Halloween, (literally) Michael Myers himself. A force of nature that refuses to die even after 13 movies. A franchise built off this iconic character deserves an iconic cocktail.

This cocktail is called Jack-o-lantern because you carve out a small pumpkin to put the liquor inside. The carved pumpkin is a fixture at the beginning of every Halloween movie. This one is sure to be a hit at parties and hopefully, everyone understands the reference!

  • 2 oz spiced rum
  • 1 oz pumpkin puree
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • 4 oz ginger beer
  • Pour into hollowed out mini pumpkin

Ghostface- Ghostly black margarita

"Someone has taken their love of scary movies one step too far. Solving this mystery is going to be murder."

Another popular character that has an incredibly successful franchise is Ghostface. Ghostface is a character from Scream, that changes every movie and isn’t attached to one single person but still is a famous villain.

A black margarita is perfect for Ghostface because of his iconic black robe. What makes this margarita stand out from the rest is the activated charcoal to give it that spooky Halloween look. I also suggest that you use black sprinkles for the rim to really elevate the cocktail!

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz orange liqueur
  • ½ oz agave syrup
  • ½ oz activated charcoal
  • Black sprinkles/sugar for the rim
