Labatt Blue pours Orange this weekend for Syracuse football ACC opener
By Matt Sidney
Labatt Blue Light is taking on a vibrant orange color this Saturday to celebrate Syracuse University’s ACC home opener. The popular light pilsner, known for its delicate balance of sweetness and citrusy hop character, will be served in a special orange-colored version at the Orange Crate, Syracuse’s favorite on-campus joint.
This festive transformation is part of Labatt USA’s continued partnership with Syracuse Athletics, aiming to boost the Orange faithful's game day experience.

Jason Folaron, Labatt's brand manager expressed his excitement about the upcoming game and the new season under a fresh coaching regime. “We hope 'Cuse can pull out a win for the Orange faithful," said Folaron, brand manager for Labatt. "There is so much energy and buzz around this season and new coach. We thought it would be fun to get the pre-game started with some orange Labatt Blue Light. We're huge fans and are looking forward to another successful season.”
The announcement stated the special tailgate event, set for September 7, will not only feature the uniquely colored beer but also offer an array of food, beer, and branded swag. Tailgaters over the age of 21 can enjoy these offerings starting from 9 a.m. at the Orange Crate, which promises to be the center of Saturday’s pre-game festivities.
Adding to the excitement, Syracuse Football alumni Rob Carpenter, a former wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, and Robert Drummond, a previous running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, will make special appearances. Their presence is expected to add an extra layer of nostalgia and spirit to the already charged atmosphere.
This event marks a continuation of Labatt’s largest collegiate partnership. Announced last year, the three-year agreement includes branding rights within Syracuse's JMA Wireless Dome. Fans can spot Labatt’s presence at a fully branded lower-level concourse station and four upper-level grab-and-go beverage stations.
Labatt Blue Light, first brewed in 1847 in Canada, has a long-standing tradition of quality and connection to sports and outdoor activities. As a top choice among tailgaters and sports enthusiasts across the Great Lakes region and beyond, Labatt Blue Light enjoys a reputation for being the go-to beer for sports events. This Saturday’s special edition orange beer is just another way Labatt celebrates its deep ties with the sports community, particularly with the spirited fans of Syracuse Athletics.
