Brace yourselves, Lakers Nation - there's a new soda in town, and it's not your average sugary fizz!

Poppi, the soda brand that’s all about “better-for-you” bubbles, has just signed a multi-year deal as the Official Soda of the Los Angeles Lakers. Yup, you heard it right. This cult-favorite drink is hitting the big leagues, swapping courtside seats for something even sweeter: full-on sponsorship status with one of the NBA’s most iconic teams.

If you’re not familiar with Poppi, let’s get you up to speed. This Austin-born brand is a game-changer in the soda world, ditching high sugar counts for fresh ingredients like real fruit juice and a splash of apple cider vinegar.

It’s got only 5 grams of sugar and 25 calories, meaning it’s healthier than most sodas while still keeping the flavor high and the calories low. Poppi's co-founder, Allison Ellsworth, says it’s all about redefining soda for the next generation.

Poppi’s partnership with the Lakers is its first official sports collab, and it’s a big one.

“We’re so excited to be the official soda of the Lakers!” said Ellsworth. “To be involved with such an iconic team is a dream come true. We have a lot of surprises up our sleeves for our Poppi community, and we can’t wait to meet Lakers fans in person.” Now, if that doesn’t sound like the beginning of a beautiful friendship, we don’t know what does.

The collaboration won’t just be limited to flashy logos and photo ops, either. Poppi plans to get real with Lakers fans through fun activations at games, co-branded social content, and even theme nights at the iconic Crypto.com Arena.

You can also expect virtual signage during select broadcasts and Poppi’s bubbly goodness to be stocked at the UCLA Health Training Center. In other words, fans will be seeing a lot of this vibrant brand both on and off the court.

Tim Harris, the Lakers’ President of Business Operations, is also thrilled about the partnership. “Los Angeles and Lakers basketball offer the perfect backdrop for Poppi’s beloved soda,” he shared. “Innovating and delivering outstanding experiences is what we do at the Los Angeles Lakers. We always find new ways to authentically connect with fans, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring Poppi to Lakers Nation.”

So, what’s next for this bubbly union? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: whether you’re cheering from the stands or your couch, it’s about to get a whole lot fizzier!
